Sustainability in the Curriculum meeting
01 May 2014
You are iinvited to attend the next Sustainability in the Curriculum meeting on Wednesday, 7 May (2-4pm) in University Place, Room 5.206.
We'll be discussing the recent environmental sustainability ‘Ethical Grand Challenge’ event for Year 1 students at the Faculty of Life Sciences. This was attended by more than 150 students over an afternoon. The pilot event will feed into thinking about how best to conduct such an event across all faculties at the University.
We’ll hear about how the organisers approached the event, the range of activities included in the event, what the organisers hoped to achieve through the event and what the students made of it.
In the light of the organisers’ insights, we’ll discuss the rationale for such events, how such events may be approached in the future, what activities might be included and what alternatives there may be which have the same broad reach. We hope that this discussion will stimulate ideas for how we can integrate sustainability activities into our own teaching.
