Manchester rises to the University Challenge

The University has romped to victory in a special Champion of Champions University Challenge match to celebrate 50 years of the iconic BBC quiz show.

In tonight's anniversary showdown, a team made up of former Manchester winners took on a team from Magdalen College, Oxford. Both institutions have each won University Challenge on four occasions - more than any other university.

Manchester went on to beat their Oxford opponents by 230 to 80, cementing their position as the show's most successful University team in recent years.
