Eggsellent result for the Wood Street Mission Easter Project
23 Apr 2014
Many thanks for your generous donations of Easter eggs and money towards this year’s Easter Project.
This really was a fantastic collection and Wood Street received over 800 Easter eggs as well as financial donations this year from members of staff at the University.
Last year over 6,000 Easter eggs were distributed to 1,613 children, all of whom were affected by poverty, and Wood Street expected that number to increase this year. Over 800 families were booked in for help with eggs before Easter and the Mission continued to book in more families right up until the Easter holidays.
As well as giving out Easter treats from the beginning of April, the Mission ensured that each of the families referred for help at Easter was given a food hamper to help them through the extended school holidays.
Your contribution to Wood Street's work really will make a huge difference to these local families and will help the Mission to continue offering support. The families themselves remain very grateful for the help they receive and it is on their behalf that Wood Street Mission thanks you all for your contribution to this year’s project and your continued support.
Wood Street Mission continues to support families throughout the year with clothing parcels, baby equipment and bedding, as well as offering a school uniform package at the beginning of the school year.
