Matthew and Cath aim to 'Live Below the Line'

Two members of staff will face the challenge of existing on the equivalent of £1 a day for five consecutive days.
From 28 April to 2 May, Matthew Walker (Directorate of Finance) and Cath Foster (Directorate for the Student Experience) are taking part in the ‘Live Below the Line’ challenge. They will raise money for Unicef and Send A Cow respectively, two of a number of charities associated with this innovative awareness and fundraising campaign.
In today's world, extreme poverty and inequality are unjustifiable and unfair. 'Live Below the Line' is challenging individuals and communities to eat and drink on just £1 per day for five days, to bring to life the experiences of the 1.2 billion people currently living in extreme poverty. Think about that figure - 1.2 billion - that's nearly 20 times the population of the UK - living every day in extreme poverty. Participants choose to take the challenge and fundraise for one of 35 charity partners whose work is vital to ending extreme poverty.
Support them as they live below the line by donating now – your generous support will go towards fighting extreme poverty. Anything which the charities receives between now and 30 June will be matched pound for pound by the UK Government, so please donate!
