03 Apr 2014
The Wellcome Trust Science Writing Prize 2014, in association with The Guardian and The Observer, is now open
The Prize offers an amazing opportunity for anyone with an interest in science to join a new generation of science writers. Submit your 800-word article by 11 May 2014 and you could win £1,000 and be published in The Guardian or The Observer.
To enter you must be a non-published writer based in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. You can enter in either of two categories:
- professional scientists of postgraduate level and above
- anyone else with a non-professional interest in science (this includes undergraduate science students).
This year, the Prize’s shortlisted entries will be judged by an outstanding panel:
- Jeremy Farrar (Director of the Wellcome Trust)
- Mark Miodownik (science writer and broadcaster)
- Ian Sample (Science Correspondent, The Guardian)
- Anjana Ahuja (science writer)
- Sophie Scott (Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow)
- Nicola Davis (Commissioning Editor, The Observer).
