UMBUG 1000 – the final countdown (and programme)

UMBUG 1000 takes place on Thursday, 3 April at 4.30pm outside University Place - we hope you are looking forward to it!
We are aware that we haven’t outlined exactly what will be happening, so here’s the programme; if you haven’t already signed up, hopefully the following events will encourage you to do so. Please try and free up an hour to show your support for cycling at the University.
Sign up in less than a minute at:
4.30pm sharp – Professional Photography
- Great images of a ‘sea of cyclists’, highlighting the strength of our cycling community and our 1000th member, Susie Wallace. To be used for internal and external publicity.
- Bring your bike if you can.
- During the event we encourage members to take their own photos too and use the hashtag #UMBUG1000 on Twitter.
5pm – FREE refreshments + commemorative UMBUG 1000 badges!
- Hot and cold drinks, cakes and muffins - served outside.
- Bring your Hug Mug if you have one.
- Badges to evidence ‘I was there!’
- Lock your bikes up outside University Place or Williamson.
5pm – Presentation
- A short presentation to Susie and a few words to you all from:

5.15pm – Spokes Dance Troupe!
- Some light-hearted fun and entertainment from Europe’s first bicycle dance troupe!
- Think synchronised swimming, with comedy, and wheels!
- The all new line-up will perform for the first time, to celebrate our 1000 members.

5.45pm onwards - The Old Abbey Inn
- The Abbey is opening especially for UMBUG to continue the celebration.
- It’s on Manchester Science Park, Pencroft Way.
- As well as drinks, a cook will be on hand for food orders.
- Be great to see you all there.
- Feel free to join us, even if you can’t make University Place.
