New website for Environmental Sustainability
27 Mar 2014
The Environmental Sustainability Team has launched a new engagement portal to help staff, students and visitors to think about sustainability and take action.
The new website has a range of initiatives, actions and activities which will help individuals make a practical and positive contribution.
The portal was launched on 12 March during the inaugural Think Sustainability: Inspiring Action event, which was attended by over 100 members of staff.
Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Rod Coombs, opened the day by providing an institutional perspective of our environmental sustainability work and the role of the Sustainability Enthusiasts.
Chris Cutts, one of the Associate Deans with responsibility for social responsibility, talked about how he has been working with staff in his Faculty to promote initiatives in the curriculum and operationally.
Writer and broadcaster Alastair McIntosh (pictured right) then gave a very powerful message about individual action and how everyone at the University has the ability to make a positive impact on environmental sustainability.
A short film of the day is being produced by Media Services so look out for that in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who came and for the great feedback that we have received.
