Writers available to help you blog your policy-relevant research
11 Mar 2014
Economic and social researchers are being offered the services of experienced professional writers, to help turn research into topical blog posts, aimed at policy actors and influencers
Policy@Manchester has been awarded funding from the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) Impact Accelerator Account to employ freelance writers, to help unlock the potential impact of research and expertise by translating it for a mainstream, non-academic audience.
The resource, which is available on a regular basis until July, is free to access for those researching economic and social issues.
The aim is to turn research findings and expertise into blog posts for the fast-expanding and influential Manchester Policy Blogs, which has attracted 24,000 views since it launched in September.
In line with usual style, blog posts will be published under the name of the researchers(s) involved - and while a ghostwriting service is being offered, those involved in the research will get final approval of the content.
The engaged freelance writers are able to help produce blog posts based on policy-relevant events and can also help with the refinement of potential blog posts that have already been drafted.
If you have new or recent research that would like to see disseminated more widely, or you are keen to add your voice to the debate on a topical issue, please contact alex.waddington@manchester.ac.uk in the first instance.
