New Head of Social Sciences

Professor Chris Orme has been appointed to the role of Head of the School of Social Sciences (SoSS), in the Faculty of Humanities, for an initial term of three and a half years.

Professor Orme became Acting Head of SoSS, following Professor Fiona Devine’s move to Manchester Business School in September 2013.

Professor Keith Brown, Vice-President and Dean, Faculty of Humanities, said: “Chris has successfully led the School for the past six months. I am pleased that he has now been appointed as Head of School and will be able to develop the School further, building on the excellent work that both he and Fiona have already delivered.”
