Scheduled network outage on Tuesday 4th March

Brief scheduled network outage for Fallowfield residential campus and University systems at The Christie (including CRUK & WMIC) at 8am,Tuesday 4 March.

In response to feedback from the research community, IT Services are carrying out work to increase the speed of the core network at the University; which supports connectivity across campus, linking buildings, data centres, halls of residence, providing connectivity to other universities and of course the internet.

The improved network will allow faster speeds to computer desktops, as well as bring significant benefit to the Computational Shared Facility (CSF) and Research Data Service (RDS).

Work to achieve this will involve a 5 minute outage at at 8am, Tuesday 4 March.

A reminder notice will be posted on StaffNet prior to the work being carried out.
