Is it a bird? Is it a Plane? No, it’s a #VoluntHero!

A new breed of superhero is taking over the campus as part of the Student Volunteering Week from 24 February to 2 March

VoluntHero

A joint #VoluntHero campaign by the Student Development & Community Engagement Division and the Students’ Union aims to both celebrate all those students who give their time to others and to encourage more students to become involved in volunteer opportunities.

Part of the campaign involves collecting stories and images of volunteers to post on twitter at #VoluntHero and, to encourage more photos, a number of life-size cut-outs which allow students to instantly become a VoluntHero will be appearing across the campus.

Staff at selected locations will be handing out VoluntHero badges to any student who volunteers throughout the week with their locations being disclosed on the twitter feed as the week goes on.

Getting Involved

There is a Volunteer Fair running in Academy 2 of the Students’ Union on Wednesday, 26 February for any student that wants to get involved. Representatives from a wide range of local charities will be attending, all looking to recruit student volunteers to their cause and a number of taster day sessions will be running throughout the week.
