Job title changes

In the Professional Support Services Leadership team

Heads of Faculty Administration are now known as Directors of Faculty Operations, while David Barker’s title becomes Director of Compliance and Risk and Helen Barton’s title becomes Director of Planning.

The move has been made to provide consistency across all of the members of the PSS Leadership Team.

The Directors of Faculty Operations are:

• Faculty of Humanities – Russell Ashworth
• Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences – Rachel Brealey
• Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences – Kay Day
• Faculty of Life Sciences – Simon Merrywest

These changes are reflected in the most recent PSS organisational chart and the University Management Structure.

A new mailing list (dofo@listserv.manchester.ac.uk) has been set up in Listserv in place of the hofa list.

Commenting on the changes, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer Will Spinks said: “It made sense that everyone who heads up the PSS Directorates and Faculty Offices shared the same title of Director. 

“In addition, the term Faculty Administration is not easily recognisable outside of the higher education sector, and Faculty Operations was felt to more accurately reflect the important range of activities which the PSS provides at a Faculty level.”
