Earth Week (10-14 February): asking the big questions

What is the future of our world? What issues do we need to tackle in our lifetimes? What are the big problems our society faces?
A& series of interactive exhibitions, academic lectures and exciting events will be taking place all over campus.
As part of Earth Week (10–14 February), the Students’ Union, working with the University, is putting on a wide array of activities that you can get involved in. From a cycling festival to a series of exhibitions, from engaging lectures and debates to Museum tours, it’s going to be an exciting week on campus with lots of opportunities to get involved!
Starting on Monday, 10 February with a day dedicated to that thing we all love … food, The Sustainable Food Festival is at 10am in University Place. Throughout the week there will be exhibitions in the Atrium focusing on five different themes and each evening there will be lecture addressing the topic of the day:
- Monday, 10 February: The Future of Food with Dr. Alice Larkin-Bows
- Tuesday, 11 February: Global Inequalities with Professor David Hulme
- Wednesday, 12 February: Sustainable Living with Professor Alan Warde
- Thursday, 13 February: The Future of Energy panel discussion, chaired by Dr. John Broderick
- Friday, 14 February: The Unknowns of Climate Change with Dr Grant Allen
All lectures will take place in University Place, Lecture Theatre A at 5pm.

On Wednesday, Manchester Museum will host The Living Worlds Tour at 7pm, where you will be able to explore the Museum, engage with live animals and discuss the future of our planet.
