New home for Race Relations Centre

The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre will be relocating to Manchester Central Library over the next few weeks.

The Centre remains a part of the University and will have its own space in the Lower Ground Floor of the Library. To borrow resources from the collection, customers will only require a Manchester city library card and we hope to welcome many of the university students and academics to our new premises.

Jackie Ould,  Co-Director, Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre and Education Trust said: “For the Centre, this is an opportunity to develop new partnership activities with the range of other archives in Central Library.  Items held in the Centre’s archives are already included in the interactive digital exhibitions that are a major new feature of the Central Library ground floor. Our collection will be much more visible to the general public and we hope this will increase its relevance and use. We hope to sponsor book-launches, lectures and many other events of interest to the university community in addition to continuing to provide the personal support we have always given to students using our collection."

The new Manchester Central Library will open to the public on 22 March.
