New weather and air-quality forecasting web site

University researchers develop the first real-time educational forecasting site in the UK.

To help improve the employability of earth, atmospheric and environmental students in the UK, a group of atmospheric scientists and eLearning technologists created the first real-time weather and air-quality forecasting web site for educational use within the UK. ManUniCast runs two open-source weather and air-chemistry forecasting computer models for two days. The web page even offers a tailored forecast for the Whitworth Observatory on campus:

ManUniCast was created by the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences and the eLearning Team at the University.
