Hopefully everyone who is trying to have a healthier January is doing well on their chosen programme. For all of you trying to get fitter for 2014, don’t forget to visit the health and beauty discounts on the intranet and via Perkz. There is a great selection of gyms, beauty & massage therapy, hair salons, opticians and nutritional support.

The Valentine’s Day promotions are now starting. The Living Room on Deansgate have an offer that if you book your Valentine’s meal before 6 February, all dining couples will receive a limited edition pair of handmade Prestat Disaronno truffles.

Did you know that University staff are eligible to purchase an NUS Extra Card? Cards cost £12 per year and entitle you to 12 months of fabulous savings from major retailers such as Amazon, Spotify, Accessorize, Superdrug, Apple, ASOS, Easyjet and on your-day to-day shopping at Co-operative stores and many more!

Thank you for recent feedback from a number of colleagues recently regarding their positive experiences using the Cottages4u and Hilton hotels in particular. Hilton provide up to 40% off best available rate at weekends, which is a fantastic saving! In the past year staff have saved over £13,000 on Cottages4u bookings (an average saving of £175 per booking)! Hoseasons are also part of the Cottages4u holiday group and cover family holiday parks, lodges, boating holidays, city break apartments and luxury villas as well as cottages with a last minute availability and sale selection. Helpful for booking Valentines or February half term breaks or whether you are planning ahead for summer!
