I promote biodiversity to benefit the environment and people’s lives
I work in the Manchester Museum, with wonderful collections on both natural history and human cultures. I promote the understanding and value of biodiversity, bringing people, museum specimens and academic ideas together in exhibitions, assisting researchers around the world and teaching students.
The amazing thing about the Museum is that it affects the way people think and feel about the wider world. It is a catalyst for change. With my colleagues, we support people to develop their interest in nature beyond their visit, and to connect their lives, choices and actions with the world around them. This matters to me as I believe biodiversity enriches our lives and because we are part of nature. Valuing biodiversity is part of our humanity.
