I run a local playgroup for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers
As a mum of two young children, I work a four-day week at the University and, along with a handful of other mums, run a local playgroup on my non-working day. The Taxal and Fernilee Under 5’s playgroup is based in the High Peak, and takes place in the local school hall.
The playgroup has a regular turn-out of around thirty children and encourages engagement in arts and crafts, stories, singing and messy play. It is also a good opportunity for new mothers to meet other parents and carers in the community. The playgroup also makes a small profit which is donated to local charities and community events.
