Places are now available for the following sessions: Manual Handling on 5th December 2013 and CIEH Manual Handling Principles & Practice on 9th December 2013.
THS2 Manual Handling is a training session is aimed at those who carry out low risk manual handling activities such as office based staff and will outline how we can all try to avoid injuries and be safe within the workplace. It aims to raise delegates awareness of moving and handling issues, and introduce them to the hazards of manual handling, the risk involved and the controls available.
For those for whom manual handling forms a regular or significant part of their role the STDU also offers THS135 CIEH Level 2 Award in Manual Handling - Principles and Practice. It combines both the theoretical and hands-on elements of the subject and teaches learners techniques to lift, carry, push and pull objects safely within their individual capabilities.
The courses will be held on the following days:
- THS2 Thursday 5th December 2013 9:30 – 12:30pm at STDU, Health & Safety Training Room (H12), Sackville Street
- THS135 Monday 9th December 2013, 09:30am to 16:30pm at Health & Safety Training Room (H14), Sackville Street
