University staff organise Strictly Tea Dance for RSPCA

04 Nov 2013

On Saturday, 9 November (4-6.30pm) at St Werburgh's Church Hall, 388 Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, M21 0UH

RSPCA Tea Dance

Hannah Brookfield (School of Arts, Languages and Cultures), Dave Hartley (Martin Harris Centre) and Emma Packham (Division of Development and Alumni Relations) are organising a fundraising event for the Manchester and Salford RSPCA branch.

Hannah and Dave are incredibly committed volunteers, spending their Saturdays walking rescue dogs. Both have Trustee positions, carry out home visits for potential adoptions and help to organise micro-chipping and fundraising events. Emma has recently started volunteering for the RSPCA, which was triggered by adopting two house rabbits earlier this year.

Hannah, Dave and Emma have organised Strictly Tea Dance, an afternoon of waltzing and cream tea, raffles and prizes on Saturday, 9 November (4-6.30pm).

Set in a traditional village hall in Chorlton, complete with a sprung dance floor, you will spend the afternoon learning how to waltz with tuition from a professional from Steppin' Out Dance Studio. Don't worry if you can't find a partner to come along, there will be lots of people to dance with. The dancing will be followed by a scrumptious cream tea (vegan option available), a demonstration by professional dancers, prizes and raffle!

So if you are addicted to Strictly Come Dancing or fancy trying something new, come along and support your local RSPCA.
