IJEEE@50
01 Nov 2013
Past and present met in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering when staff celebrated 50 years of the International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education (IJEEE).
The quarterly journal, which features best practice and new developments in teaching and curriculum design, has always been edited within the School or its institutional predecessors.
The journal’s Manchester roots go back to 1948 when it was founded here as the Bulletin of Electrical Engineering Laboratory Practice. In 1963 its name was changed to IJEEE to reflect a more ambitious scope and international readership, and soon afterwards Manchester University Press became the publisher.
The 50th anniversary edition looks very much to the future, with a special issue highlighting aspects of the electrical and electronic engineering education now on offer to our students.
