Record result for charity clothes swap
30 Oct 2013
Thanks to everyone who supported the Rutherford Swish on 30 October.
More than 40 colleagues came along to the Rutherford Room with loved but unwanted clothes and accessories, paid a donation and then helped themselves to any items which took their fancy.
The event raised a record £104 and at least 12 bags of clothes. Money and left-over clothes will be divided between two local charities: Wood Street Mission and Cornerstone.
Organizer Emma Lewis said: "It’s such a fun event – and a great way to support two fantastic local charities, whilst picking up some new-to-you clothes at the same time.
"I’ve got a delightful new blazer, jacket and pair of shoes – so a huge thanks to whoever donated them."
