Four Staff Survey theme groups set up

17 Oct 2013

Senior staff are taking a lead role in the four University-level themes coming out of the Staff Survey

Staff Survey

The results of the Staff Survey show that four key themes need work at a University-level.

Now members of the University’s Senior Leadership Team have been appointed to lead the groups which are:

  • Behaviours – led by Will Spinks, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer and Professor Clive Agnew, Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students
  • Performance and development review – led by Karen Heaton, Director of Human Resources and Professor Martin Humphries, Vice-President and Dean for the Faculty of Life Sciences
  • Reward and recognition – led by Steve Mole, Director of Finance and Professor Luke Georghiou, Vice-President for Research and Innovation
  • Leadership – led by Professor Keith Brown, Vice-President and Dean for the Faculty of Humanities and Karen Heaton, Director of Human Resources

Both the performance and development review and reward and recognition groups have met and proposals and action plans are currently being drawn up.

Action Plans

As well as these University-level themes, Staff Survey Action Plans have been put together for each of the four Faculties, the Professional Support Services (PSS) and the Library and visitor attractions.

These groups will be expected to set short, medium and long-term targets and implement specific strategies to achieve the targets. The Staff Survey Steering Group will be responsible for monitoring the progress of these University-level themes.

The responsibility for progressing Faculty, PSS and Library/Visitor Attractions action plans will rest with the Staff Survey Action Planning teams, working in close partnership with the senior leadership in their areas.
