Submissions are invited to the Access to Learning Fund to cover shortfalls in student income for essential maintenance costs for the entire 2013/14 academic year.
Each year, the University receives government funds to assist UK/Home students experiencing financial hardship.
Awards range from £100 to £3000 and are designed to cover any shortfall in income for essential maintenance costs for an entire academic year. In 2012/13, we made awards to over 200 students.
The Access to Learning Fund particularly aims to help:
- Students from a low income family
- Students with children/dependants - particularly lone parents
- Students with a disability
- Students experiencing financial hardship due to unexpected or difficult personal circumstances
It is important to note that the fund cannot be awarded for the purpose of paying tuition fees.
