Book your place at the Foundation Lecture and Honorary Degree Ceremony on Wednesday 16 October.
The University marks its foundation each year with its prestigious Foundation Lecture. The President and Vice-Chancellor would like to invite as many members of staff as possible from across the University to attend this occasion.
The 2013 Foundation Lecture will be delivered by Professor Mario Molina, best known for his study on the effect on Earth’s upper atmosphere of man-made compounds. The title of the lecture is "Climate Change: Science and Policy".
The Foundation Lecture is preceded by a drinks reception.

From 4.00 pm in University Place.
Foundation Lecture
From 4.30 pm in University Place.
The Lecture will end at 5.45pm.
Honorary Degree Ceremony
There are also a number of places available to attend the Foundation Day Honorary Degree Ceremony which follows the Lecture at 6.15pm in Whitworth Hall.
Honorary Degrees will be conferred upon:
- Sir Bobby Charlton
- Professor Peter Higgs
- Professor Mario Molina
- Ms Frances O’Grady
