In conjunction with the Cultural Collage World Music Festival 2013, Manchester Museum will be providing a rare opportunity to see a performance by a capella sensations ‘Africa Entsha’ from Soweto, Africa. Great music, inspirational harmonies, fabulous dance: an irresistible performance expressing the spirit of Africa. Manchester Museum is dedicating a whole Big Saturday to some of the professional world musicians and dancers who live and work in the city, in association with the Cultural Collage World Music Festival 2013. We have performances, workshops and events for the whole family to get involved - accordion music from Russia, mariachi from Paraguay, palmwine music from Sierra Leone, reggae from the Sechelles and Kathak dance from India. A day for the whole family to celebrate Manchester's diverse music scene.

Fancy an afternoon of singing songs from around the world inspired by the Manchester Museum's collections? Join Caroline Bithell, ethnomusicologist from the University of Manchester and member of the Natural Voice Practitioners' Network, in an afternoon of thrilling rhythms and uplifting harmonies. Songs will be taught by ear. All levels of singers welcome.
