School governors invited to support UMSGI Green Gown Awards shortlisting
09 Sep 2013
Feedback is required by Tuesday, 10 September on how parents (including parent governors) in schools have responded to having a member of University staff on the Governing Body.
The University's School Governor Initiative (UMSGI) has been shortlisted for a Green Gown Award in the Social Responsibility category:
As a finalist, we are required to submit some further information and respond to the judges' feedback. One of the questions we have been asked, is how parents (including parent governors) in schools have responded to having a member of University staff on the Governing Body. We are interested in any feedback you have on this – here are some examples of feedback we have received already.
"One of the parent governors on my Governing Body commented how pleased they were to have someone from the University who could share their expertise in university admissions processes. They felt this would help to improve the way the college prepared students for the UCAS application process."
"One of the parents in the school where I am a Governor fed back how pleased they were that the University was working with local schools and supporting the community in this way."
Please email any feedback you have by Tuesday, 10 September to:
