Has your child recently flown the nest to university?
30 Aug 2013
The Undergraduate Student Recruitment Team is looking for a small number of staff to support an enhanced engagement with parents as part of our next Open Day on Saturday, 5 October.
For this to be credible, we prefer to involve staff who have recent experience of a child leaving home to go to university. This enhanced work is in response to the recent Student Barometer survey that showed parental influence on University choice has increased dramatically.
We are looking for support in hosting a specific stand in the Student Experience Exhibition in the Whitworth Hall which will involve offering practical advice to parents as they prepare to send their child to university and to help address any concerns that they may have. There are many other exhibition stands in the Whitworth Hall (Accommodation, Finance, IT Services, Study Abroad, Library).
Full briefing and support will be offered. We have a specific guide for parents that will be used on the day and you can read the types of issues we know they are most interested in from this link.
