Irving Czechowicz wins Volunteers for Museum Learning in the North West region
Earlier this year Manchester Museum staff were invited to nominate individual volunteers for The Marsh Trust Award, who have significantly contributed to Manchester Museum, the service they provided and how they have enhanced the visitor experience.
There was one volunteer who received multiple nominations from staff across various departments for his outstanding approach to visitor engagement, Irving Czechowicz.
We are pleased to announce that Irving won the Volunteers for Museum Learning in the North West region. On Monday 8 July he attended the award ceremony at the British Museum and it was wonderful to see one of our amazing volunteers amongst the winners. Irving volunteers on the money handling table every Wednesday from 1-3pm and he has also recently gained casual work at the Museum.
The ‘Volunteers for Museum Learning’ award forms part of a programme of awards presented by the Marsh Christian Trust in the fields of science, ecology, conservation, heritage, literature and volunteering. Each one of these awards recognises individuals and organisations who devote their lives to improving the world today and the world in the future. The Marsh awards programme is managed in association with key partners including the Zoological Society of London, English Heritage, Barnardo’s, the Refugee Council and the British Museum.
