Awards for green dream teams
19 Jul 2013
The University has celebrated our staff and students’ outstanding work to improve environmental sustainability on campus with the Green Impact Awards.
This year 42 departments took part, compared to 26 the previous year, with a total of 2,217 staff, 539 of which were directly involved in a Green Impact team.
That meant 1675 actions were completed across the University, 1103 of which were done as a result of Green Impact. In addition 50 student auditors were trained, which is helping improve their employability.
The Environmental Sustainability Team discussed their work through a variety of projects – from travelling to work to electric vehicles on campus, from waste management to increasing engagement and activity – before presenting the awards.
