Hallé Youth Orchestra at The Martin Harris Centre
02 Jul 2013
Don't miss the opportunity to see the talented young musicians of The Hallé Youth Orchestra, conducted by music alumnus Jamie Philips, on Friday, 26 July (7.30pm) in the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall.
The Hallé Youth Orchestra, founded in 2002, offers a unique opportunity to local young musicians, aged 13-19 years, to regularly experience the challenge of rehearsing and performing symphonic music to a very high standard, working with and playing alongside professional musicians.
During this concert at The Martin Harris Centre, they will be conducted by UoM Music alumnus Jamie Phillips who is Assistant Conductor at the Hallé Orchestra. Jamie, who works with Sir Mark Elder, is the Hallé Youth Orchestra's youngest ever assistant conductor at 20 yrs old, and he began his two year tenure in September 2012.
Programme to include
- Stravinsky The Firebird: Suite 1919
