University of Manchester Students' Union bids for share of £5 million eco fund.
The University of Manchester Students’ Union (UMSU) is bidding for a share of the Students’ Green Fund, a £5m student-led sustainability project funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and run by the National Union of Students.
Working in collaboration with the University, the Manchester Museum and Manchester Metropolitan University, the Students’ Union are currently in the process of developing three student-led sustainability initiatives:
- Sustainable travel
- Carbon literacy and biodiversity
- Sustainable food
Successful project bids will receive the funding over two academic years, and the fund will be used by Student Unions up and down the country to develop and support sustainability initiatives. The funding decision will be made at the end of July, so watch this space for regular updates.
