The University of Manchester’s Language Centre, based at the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, has been awarded ‘Centre of Excellence’ status by the EL Gazette for its English language provision.
This is based on Points of Excellence in the last inspection report by Accreditation UK and puts the University Language Centre in the top 5% of providers UK-wide within the accreditation scheme.
Carmel Roche, the Director of English Language Programmes at the University Language Centre, said “I’m extremely proud that our English Language teaching quality has been recognised in this way. I would like to thank all the teaching and support staff who have made this possible.”
She added “Students are at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to improve their English language and prepare them for the demands of academic courses across the entire university. We want to ensure that their first experience at the University of Manchester, is both welcoming and rewarding.”
