Locating Boccaccio in 2013 conference
06 Jun 2013
On Wednesday, 10 July to Friday, 12 July 2013 at Manchester Town Hall and John Rylands Library.
This international conference seeks to locate Boccaccio and Boccaccio studies in 2013: the 700th anniversary of Boccaccio’s birth.
We aim to reflect on the position of Boccaccio in the 21st century, as well as stimulate new discussions about his status, with a particular focus on the material dimension of his works.
The conference will coincide with the opening of an exhibition showcasing the Boccaccio holdings of the John Rylands Library and a collection of artists books commissioned for the anniversary.
Featuring keynote addresses by:
- Marco Cursi
- Anne D. Hedeman
- Brian Richardson
- Sarah Bodman
