Policy@Manchester is running a discussion event on Friday, 7 June called: 'Opportunities in policy making and the Civil Service.'
Sir Jeremy Heywood, Cabinet Secretary, will discuss with Manchester academics, the new approach to open policy making and policy careers in the Civil Service.
The Civil Service has long provided an opportunity for those interested in public policy to make a career in policy making and implementation. Recent reform initiatives are now aimed at supplementing this with 'open' policy making, more 'evidence-based' policy and outsourcing some policy work to universities and others.
The event takes place between 11.45pm – 12.30pm in the Michael Smith Lecture Theatre, Michael Smith Building.
