The newest digital collection examines research across six themes

Health Inequalities

Policy@Manchester – our sector-leading policy engagement team – have launched their new digital collection, Health Inequalities.

Drawing on research from across the University, this piece offers evidence-led insight and policy recommendations on the causes, effects, and solutions to disparities in health and health outcomes in the UK and around the world.

Health Inequalities examines the research across six themes: regional inequalities, digital health inequalities, ethnic health inequalities, healthier houses and cities, gender, and age. From the disproportionate impact of COVID on different demographics, to how underlying regional health disparities create economic gaps, Health Inequalities examines the interlinked causes of persistent poor health outcomes, and where policymakers and public health bodies can start to make a change.

Read about the paradigm-shifting research into culturally sensitive care in tackling racial inequalities in mental health outcomes, or how integrating greener, more active choices into new housing developments can boost health and wellbeing.
