Staff Management Forum
SMF is designed to ensure that all Library managers are supported and developed in all aspects of staff management.
The forum provides regular opportunities for managers to develop their management skills and to share their expertise and experiences with each other. In addition, SMF aims to encourage greater consistency in our approach to management across the Library.
Membership
- All staff with line management responsibility are automatically SMF members.
- SMF membership will be included in the induction process for new managers, so that they understand the purpose of the group and are added to the mailing list.
- Managers should ensure that any changes which require staff to join or leave SMF are emailed to Pamela.Morris@manchester.ac.uk

Governance
SMF is led by Katy Woolfenden (Library Executive Team sponsor), Sarah Rayner and Michelle Sharples (Library Leadership Team leads).
