Printers (MFDs)
Printers, also known as Multi-Functional Devices (MFD) act as a combination of printer, scanner and photocopier. The Library has a number of staff and student MFDs in our libraries which can all be used by staff.
They are Xerox machines and provided by IT Services. You can install the printer yourself and you will need to use your ID card to ‘tap’ and collect your documents.
How to print labels, headed paper or custom sizes
Open the top tray and place the paper/labels in here (face up). The MFD will then ask you to choose the paper size and type. Note: The bypass tray on the smaller machines will only work when copying but not printing.

Student MFDs
If you spot a fault with an MFD, or if a customer reports a problem and you cannot resolve it straight away, make sure it is reported to either Student IT Support staff or a member of Customer Services.
Some simple-to-follow flowcharts have been produced to explain how to resolve an issue, and who to report it to, once a fault has been identified.
The Student IT Support team will order paper and distribute among the current MFD locations, Blue 1, 2 and 3. The residue will be placed in the store room on Blue 2. Paper requirements for sites and other Main Library MFD locations, will come via Customer Services.
Xerox will monitor the toner replacements.
