Are you attending a conference for the first time?

Check out these tips from Library colleagues to make the most of your day.

  • Review the agenda beforehand to work out priorities and who you want to speak to.
  • Be open to learning new things when choosing your sessions.
  • It's okay to have a quiet break and reflect on the day so far.
  • If you feel awkward networking, the person next to you probably feels the same and will feel grateful if you talk to them.
  • Don't forget you also have a unique perspective and set of experiences others will be interested to hear about.
  • It's always a good idea to take notes so you can reflect later and write up your experience to share what you've learnt with others.
