What we do

The Legal Affairs team, together with the Contracts Team in the Research and Business Engagement Support Service, has oversight of all legal matters in the University.

The Legal Affairs team is made up of the Director, Sinéad Hesp, and a team of solicitors and support staff specialising in a variety of legal areas.

Legal Affairs provide support and advice to the University on a variety of matters including:

• Student matters
• Regulatory matters
• Employment matters
• IT
• Estates
• Procurement
• Subsidy Control

The Legal Affairs Team contributes to the development of policy across the University and provides training for staff.

The Legal Affairs team sits within the Directorate of Legal Affairs and Board Secretariat, which also comprises the Governance team and the President's Office.
