Peer support
Peer support covers two areas: Peer Mentoring and Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS). Peer support has the following aims and objectives:
- To enhance the quality, quantity and diversity of student learning within a discipline
- To involve our students as partners in their own learning experience, developing and supporting the independent learner
- To provide further opportunity for the development of intellectual and professional competencies
- To provide students with a supportive environment to assist the transition to higher education
Almost every discipline in Humanities is now supported by a peer mentoring scheme or a PASS scheme.
Explanations of how PASS & Peer Mentoring work can be found on the University's Peer Support website, along with further information on the following:
Peer support interns
Each year, a number of interns are appointed to support peer support schemes across the University. Further information about the interns and the disciplines they work with can be found below.
