Induction toolkit
This Toolkit is intended to assist those responsible for implementing student induction and supporting students.
The University's 'Framework on Student Induction and Transitional Support' provides a generic framework to guide those responsible for implementing student induction and supporting students as they encounter the various transition points inherent in their programme of study and life at the University of Manchester.
This Toolkit supports the Framework, and the phrase ‘induction’ here includes all activities aimed at introducing a student to the University, from Welcome Week to information you might wish to convey to students throughout their life at the University.
The Toolkit has been organised into several pages comprising the transition times within the student lifecycle. The pages comprise useful information and links to relevant areas, and have been organised into the following sections:
- Academic
- Policies
- International students
- Student Life
- Well-Being
- Learning Support
- Services for students
University induction pages
The Manchester Induction pages on StaffNet contain information on induction and transitional support. You will find information on features that contribute to a successful transition (e.g. communication; relationships; belonging to a community). The web pages offer practical suggestions that have been used successfully within the University.
