Guidance on running online exams off-campus
During the COVID period, off-campus exams are subject to ‘especial’ Faculty and University policy. Specifically, during the 2021-22 academic year, exams in Humanities should be one of the four types below:
- Untimed exams that students can complete at any point within 7 days – typically essay-type exams
- Untimed exams that students can complete at any point within 48 hours
- Untimed exams that students can complete at any point within 24 hour
- Timed exams with a specified duration (e.g. 1 hour) that students can take within (normally) a 24h window
Exceptionally synchronous off-campus timed exams with a specified duration (e.g., exams subject to external accreditation) will require Faculty approval to go ahead. Synchronous exams are those where all students in the class complete the exam at a specific given time simultaneously.
The Humanities eLearning team offers Live chat eLearning support to students during the exam period.
