MS Teams as a supportive learning environment - Beginner Level

This is an introductory session is solely aimed for teaching staff who are considering exploring new methods to enhance students communication, collaboration, engagement and social learning.

By the end of the session attendees will have an overview on how:

  • other educators/practitioners utilised this technology and how was student experience.
  • plan and design MS Teams learning environment for your class.
  • facilitate communication for office hours, peer-support and social activities
  • increase collaboration on tasks

The session would also include hands-on practice for the basic activities to get you started.

MS Teams for collaboration using OneNote Class Notebook - Advanced Level

This session is solely aimed for teaching staff at Humanities who are considering exploring new methods to enhance students formative collaborative activities (e.g. group/project work) and exploring further opportunities with Class NoteBook for formative individual learning activities (e.g. individual digital journal/homework/exercise)

By the end of the session attendees will be able to:

  • create a OneNote Class Notebook in Teams
  • create sections and pages for class collaboration
  • create sections and pages for group work collaboration
  • manage the collaboration space
  • create group assignment for collaboration
  • distribute individual homework/exercise
  • review and provide individual feedback

The session will include hands-on practice activities to get you started

Prerequisite - This is an advanced session, hence we expect that you have:

  1. attended the introductory workshop of MS Teams for Teaching and Learning (Sign-up) or watched the recording of Welcome to Microsoft 365 session (Duration 1:02:15).
  2. used OneNote effectively or watched the OneNote instructional videos* on University M365 Help and Support page.
  3. read, where applicable, Microsoft OneNote on University page.
