Covid-19
There is an existing FSE Teaching College page relating to Covid-19, and so there will be some overlap with this page. However, this page relates primarily to appeals, complaints, malpractice, and discipline.
FSE informal Covid-related complaints toolkit
We have produced a toolkit that we hope will help in considering Covid-related complaints received informally. This contains:
- A draft acknowledgement template.
- A draft response template.
- Some statements that may be useful when responding to informal complaints.
- TLSD-issued guidance on addressing informal complaints.
- For information, a redacted outcome from the OIA responding to a Covid-related complaint.
- A support leaflet that you should attach to acknowledgement and outcome emails.
You can download the toolkit here: FSE Informal Covid complaints toolkit Nov 2020.
University-level policy and guidance
There is a dedicated TLSD page for additional policy guidance in response to Covid. Some ACD-related links are:
- Guidance for staff on Mitigating Circumstances, Self-Certification of Absence, Academic Appeals and Automatic Extensions relating to Covid-19
- Guidance on addressing informal complaints a result of industrial action and/or coronavirus
- Student disciplinary hearings
Useful sector-wide guidance
- OIA – Handling complaints arising from coronavirus
- QAA - Complaints and Appeals in the Context of COVID-19
- Turnitin - Conducting online misconduct panels
