Creating a new integrated Masters with industry placement

If the industrial partner or their headquarters is based in a key country:

  • Fill in and submit an Export Controls Compliance request (online form) with the Regulatory Compliance Team
  • Do not sign any agreements until clearance (confirmation that a licence isn’t required or that a licence has been granted) is provided

If the industrial partner is not in the UK nor in a key country:

  • You need to assess if any aspects of the project are controlled
  • If the project is controlled, Fill in and submit an Export Controls Compliance request (online form) with the Regulatory Compliance Team
  • You must ensure that during the master project no controlled information will be shared with external collaborators unless you’ve received clearance (confirmation that a licence isn’t required or that a licence has been granted) from the Regulatory Compliance team

If the industrial partner is based in the UK:

  • You need to assess if any aspects of the project are controlled
  • If the project is controlled, you do not require a licence but you MUST still meet certain requirements as well as you must register with Regulatory Compliance Team. Fill in and submit an Export Controls Compliance request (online form) with the Regulatory Compliance Team who will explain any further requirements

If you’re not working with anyone in a key country, you can sign an agreement to create a new integrated Masters programme.

Project self-assessment should be undertaken annually or whenever any aspect of the project changes. Should the project change, inform the Regulatory Compliance Team as a new licence might be needed.
