Top Tips
Here are some tips from users in the DSE for getting the best out of LinkedIn Learning.
- When you first sign up, add the skills and areas you’re interested in and you’ll receive recommendations for courses - these are surprisingly specific and useful!
- Browse around the popular courses and save the content that interests you if you don't have time to learn right away.
- Don’t feel you have to commit to the whole course from start to finish, skip the parts you already know or aren’t relevant.
- If you want to know how to perform a specific task, search for it and you can watch the relevant video even if it sits in a course you’re not doing.
- If you don’t have headphones or prefer to read, all videos have subtitles.
- There is a ‘set a goal’ option to motivate you, set a goal for 15 minutes, 30 minutes a week etc.
- There is also a LinkedIn Learning app that you can use - this means you can watch videos and continue your courses on your phone or tablet when travelling.
- It is not limited to work-related training, you can also learn fun, non-work related skills in your own time such as brain training, photography or learning how to play the guitar!
