Looker Studio dashboard metrics
Your Looker Studio dashboard offers a snapshot of visitor behaviour on your website using data from GA4, and here is a list of the included relevant metrics.
Total users: represents the total number of unique users that visit your website within a specific date range. It includes both new and returning users. It gives you an idea of your audience size.
Active/Engaged users: represent the number of users who have interacted with your website during a specific date range. These interactions include pageviews, button clicks, video views, form submissions, and others.
New users: represents the number of distinct users who visit your website for the first time within a specific date range (regardless of whether they have visited before).
Sessions: represents a period of interaction a user has with your website within a specific date range.
Engaged sessions: out of all sessions, includes only those sessions in which users actively engaged with the content on your website within a specific date range.
Sessions per user: number of sessions a user spends on your website within a specific date range. Formula = Total sessions/Active users
Engaged sessions per user: same as 'sessions per user' but using engaged sessions.These are the number of sessions in which users actively engaged with the content on your website. Formula = Engaged sessions/Total users
Avg engagement time per session (sec): average time (in seconds) spent on the website per session. Formula = User engagement*/Sessions
*User engagement: total amount of time (in sec) ALL users spend with your web page in focus in the foreground within a specific date range.
Views: total number of times the specific page (or number of pages) was viewed by users.
Views per engaged session: average number of pages on a website a user views or browses during a single session. Formula = Views/Engaged sessions
Views per active user: average number of pages on a website a user views or browses in total during a specific date range, encompassing all sessions they spend on your website . Formula = Views/Active users
Engagement rate: typically calculated as a percentage, considers the sessions in which users actively engage with your website in relation to the total number of sessions. Formula = Engaged Sessions / Sessions * 100
Bounce rate: opposite of engagement rate, it's the percentage of sessions in which users did not engage with your website. Formula = 1 - Engament rate
