Pedagogy Book Club - Timetable for 2023 - 2024

Facilitated by William Holmes (Senior Lecturer in Optometry, School of Health Sciences), the PDP Book Club will meet monthly via Teams to discuss the following book: ‘Deep Medicine: How Artificial Intelligence Can Make Healthcare Human Again’. This is based upon current issues, in line with the FBMH teaching and learning strategy. Places should be booked via the training Catalogue.

Artificial Intelligence is likely to transform the workplace of most healthcare professionals. For many what this future will hold elicits both excitement and trepidation. As educators of the future health and social care workforce how should the impact of AI on professional practice change the way students learn and how might we best facilitate this learning? Join us as we read through Eric Topol’s book Deep Medicine and meet up to discuss and explore what we have read, share ideas and learn from one another.
