Academic Development Programme assessment portfolio

If you are a new academic, you are required to complete 18 sessions and a two-part assessment portfolio.

Participants are encouraged to discuss this with their line manager and probation supervisor/mentor. The portfolio will be marked by an assessment panel and may also be provided to the school probation committee for discussion.

The portfolio has two sections:

Section 1: Submitted to University Advance HE Teaching Fellowship Scheme

Teaching and Learning evidence aligned to Professional Standards Framework

Written or narrated options possible including:

  • Brief career journey summary
  • Written or oral reflective account of practice/case studies - pedagogically underpinned and linked to the PSF (1 or 2 Fellow, 2 or 3 Senior Fellow, 3 or 4 for Principal Fellow)
  • Supporting Statements (References - 2 Fellow and Senior Fellow, 3 for Principal Fellow with 1 external)

You need to ensure you have registered on the Advance HE Teaching Fellowship scheme prior to submission of your part 1 portfolio and engaged with mandatory asynchronous module (gaining 1 of your 18 credits by doing this). Link to register on the Advance HE Teaching Fellowship scheme

Section 2: Submitted to FBMH Academic Development
